Before BOLO became the heart of Dog is Good, she entered our lives as a puppy with a very special mission.

Where It Began
A puppy with a purpose.
Dog is Good was created for people who understand that life with Dog is more than companionship. It is joy. It is comfort. It is purpose. It is the daily reminder that love does not have to be complicated to be life-changing.
At the heart of our story is BOLO, the beloved dog who became more than our mascot. She became the soul of Dog is Good.
Before BOLO became the face of our brand, she entered our lives as a puppy in training through Leader Dogs for the Blind. Her mission was important: to become a guide dog for someone who would one day depend on her every day.
We raised her. We trained her.
We loved her.
The Career Change
And one day, we were supposed to give her back.
BOLO gave everything she had to her training. She learned. She worked. She showed up with the kind of heart only a dog can bring.
But when her final evaluations came, she received what the program calls a “career change.” In simple terms, she did not meet the very strict standards required to become a guide dog.
But BOLO’s story did not end there. In many ways, it was just beginning.
The Homecoming
She came home, and brought the spark with her.
BOLO came home to us, and with her came the spark that would shape Dog is Good in ways we never could have planned.
She reminds us that dogs do not need a title to change lives. They do not need a certification to serve a purpose. They simply love us, teach us, ground us, and help us become better humans.
That truth became the heartbeat of our brand.
BOLO may not have become a guide dog, but she became something just as powerful. She became our guide.
The Soul of Dog is Good
Built on love, humor, and gratitude.
Dog is Good exists to celebrate the incredible bond between dogs and the people who love them. Every design, every product, and every message we create is rooted in that connection.
The smile you get when your dog greets you at the door. The comfort of their presence on the hard days. The laughter they bring when life feels too serious. The way they make ordinary moments feel meaningful.
She has guided us toward a brand built on love, humor, gratitude, and the belief that life really is better with Dog.
Where BOLO’s at Today
Still an important part of Dog is Good. Mostly from the comfiest spot in the room.
These days, BOLO is still an integral part of Dog is Good. She just prefers a work style that includes more relaxing, more goofing off, and a lot more well-earned lounging.
When she’s not perfecting her signature upside-down nap or supervising from the couch, she’s busy playing with her younger sister, Emi, and keeping us laughing with her big personality and daily antics.
And true to who she has always been, BOLO continues to make a meaningful impact. She is also a therapy dog and works with teens through The BOLO Project, bringing comfort, connection, and plenty of smiles everywhere she goes.
